Job Summary

• • The eICU Virtual nurse is a pivotal member of the healthcare team to assist with managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The virtual nurse will assist with tasks such as completing the admission, care plan development and maintenance, patient education, medication and discharge teaching, care coordination, mentoring of new nurses, and implementation of evidence-base care. The virtual eICU nurse assists to primary bedside nurse with nursing tasks not required to be done in person as well as real-time quality and patient safety surveillance. The eICU Virtual nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a divers group of patients.

Job Requirements

• • Education
    • Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Experience
    • Required: Minimum of two years previous nursing experience in critical care.
    • Preferred: Charge nurse or preceptor experience and specialty nursing certification.
