Job Summary

The Tech III/II/I will be responsible for assigned duties that promote the safety and well-being of all patients, visitors, and staff by maintaining the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of clinical equipment. In addition, this individual will document repairs, and perform safety checks and preventive measures. This position will be eligible for the on-call rotation.

Job Requirements

Education

Tech III

Required: Associate’s Degree in a related field OR completion of Military Biomedical training program OR an Associate’s Degree or higher in an unrelated field and CBET certification.
Required: Completion of seven manufacturer-level seminars.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Technology

Tech II

Required: Associate’s Degree in a related field OR completion of Military Biomedical training program OR an Associate’s Degree or higher in an unrelated field and CBET certification.

Required: Completion of two manufacturer-level seminars.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Technology

Tech I

Required: Associate’s Degree in a related field OR completion of Military Biomedical training program OR 2 years Biomedical equipment maintenance experience with a minimum of two manufacturer-level service seminars completed.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Technology

Experience

Tech III

Required: Five years Biomed experience

Tech II

Required: Two years Biomed experience

Tech I

Preferred: Experience in a clinical or technical field

Preferred: Experience working with clinical equipment

Skills

• Use of common hand tools.
• Use of PC and data entry skills.
• Use of test equipment.
• Knowledge of electronic theory and safety procedures.
• Ability to utilize manufacturer’s service and operators manuals and other documentation
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair basic electronic and electromechanical equipment.
