Summary

Job Summary
The Ambulatory Pharmacy Intern assists with the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining medication inventory and patient records. Responsibilities include prescription data entry, insurance claims submission, and product selection. Must be team-oriented and have strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills as well as an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Ambulatory Pharmacy Intern will further develop their professional skills by working in all aspects of Community Pharmacy including but not limited to compounding, immunizations, business review, transitions of care, specialty medications, and MTM.
Job Requirements
Education
The applicant must be enrolled in an ACPE accredited school/college of pharmacy or have documentation of acceptance into ACPE accredited school/college of pharmacy to starting within the next 12 months.

Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods; handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and schedule; set priorities and solve problems; respond quickly to emergency requests; communicate effectively (orally and in writing); assist in meeting the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, other computer systems software, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment as necessary.
Must have ability to prioritize work of self.
Must possess excellent math skills.
Must be able to pay attention to detail.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: Licensed with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern at time of hire
Ambulatory Pharmacy Intern must have an active Pharmacy Intern license with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 120 days of hire
