  • Job Summary
    • Under the direction of the Office Supervisor, the Background Investigator conducts background investigations of applicants to determine suitability for employment, volunteering or Cox College. The Investigator verifies information of applicants and submits a detailed report. The Background Investigator communicates findings to appropriate departments and performs other related work as required.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    • Experience
      • Required:  Two years’ experience performing investigative work in a government or security investigative agency or Two years’ experience as a full-time law enforcement or public safety officer conducting investigations.
    • Skills
      • Good communication skills.
      • Basic computer and report writing skills.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Must be 21 years of age and have and maintain a current POST Licensure through the Missouri Department of Public Safety, possessing a license with the required minimum training standards to include yearly training and certifications supported with current documentation.
      • Required: Maintains status necessary for maintenance of Peace Officer Licensure. Completes/attends minimal 48 hours of “POST” continuing education as required to maintain Peace Officer Licensure to include yearly certifications/requirements.
      • Required: Must obtain IAHSS Security Supervisor certification within 90 days of hire
