  • Job Summary
  • An employee who has clinical expertise to be the leader in coordination of specialty education to include, but not limited to TNCC, ENPC and ATLS.  This educator will create and effectively initiate internal and external educational opportunities based upon for trauma education.  In addition, this individual will participate in performance improvement activities related to trauma care.  Serves as an internal resource for staff in all departments through trauma education.  The employee should serve as a trauma care resource person to individuals to include the pediatric through the geriatric population within the institution and the community.  
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
        • Required:
          • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
          • Current Missouri Registered Nurse License
          • Able to achieve and maintain educational requirements for the Trauma Services Program of 24 hours of trauma-related CEU education per year with 4 of those education hours related to pediatric trauma education.
        • Preferred:
          • Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), or Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or other related Trauma Certifications
    • Experience
        • Required:
          • 3-5 years related experience
          • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Credentialed within one year of hire with Instructor status obtained within one year of hire
          • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Credentialed within one year of hire with Instructor status obtained within one year of hire
          • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire
          • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire
        • Preferred:
          • PALS Instructor status
          • ACLS instructor status
    • Skills
        • Excellent public relation skills
        • Excellent use of laptop computer
        • Ability to utilize an LCD
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
        • Required:
          • Current Missouri Registered Nurse License
