Job Summary
  • This position has responsibility/accountability for managing the Trauma Program/ Stroke Program/ STEMI Services program, coordinating care management across the continuum of care, including planning and implementing of clinical protocols/practices management guideline and monitoring care of trauma/stroke/STEMI patients. Serves as an internal resource for staff in all departments, defining the mission, goals, budget, and performance standards for the program to produce a desired outcome.
Job Requirements
  • Education
    • Required: Associates Degree in Nursing
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience
    • Required: 2 years experience in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing
  • Skills
    • Leadership: Critical Thinking, conflict management, inter and intra-department negotiation, personal development.
    • Excellent communication skills with patients, families and other health care providers and staff. Able to work well as a member of the health care team.
    • Customer Service/Working Relationships: Formulates and monitors work relationships which adhere to Cox customer service standards.
    • Performance Improvement/ Quality Measures: Develops and monitors Performance Improvement according to the hospital QI/PI plan.
    • Specialized Job Knowledge: Demonstrates competency in technical skills, i.e. computer equipment, software use, office equipment. Maintains knowledge by staying abreast with all relevant regulatory agencies, credentialing sources, educational CEUs required for maintenance of programs and professional licensure requirements.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Current Missouri Registered Nurse License
    • Able to achieve and maintain educational requirements of Trauma/Stroke/STEMI programs (8 hours of CEUs every 2 years in each program)
    • At least 2 years experience in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing, and working knowledge of evidence-based care of Trauma/Stroke/ STEMI patients.
