Job Summary

    • The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator is dedicated to providing support of medication use systems and delivery of optimal medication therapy in the ambulatory setting. Daily operations will include collaboration with multidisciplinary teams of administrators, site managers, supervisors, buyers, analysts and other healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include clinical program development, education and training of formulary management, medication safety, regulatory compliance, research and evidence-based practice, data analysis, budget awareness, and quality initiatives to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events and work to ensure medication use is aligned with evidence-based best practices and regulatory standards. The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator may have different assignments or functional roles based on experience, training, and skills. These assignments include direct patient care, operational services, or administrative tasks.  While not directly supervising staff, this position plays a crucial part in the optimization of pharmacy operations and patient outcomes. The individual must display maturity, independence, initiative, and strong communication skills. In addition, individuals will exemplify the CoxHealth mission, vision, and values and act in accordance with CoxHealth policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • Education
    • Required: Graduation from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy with Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
      Preferred: Completion of a minimum of one year of pharmacy residency training 
      Preferred: Completion of a second-year specialty residency in ambulatory care.
  • Experience 
    • Required: B.S. in Pharmacy 

      Preferred: PharmD degree 

  • Skills
    • Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, other computer systems software, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment as necessary.

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Licensed by Missouri Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist or eligible for licensure by Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist and obtains licensure within 30 days of hire. **Eligibility for licensure requires submission of application for Pharmacy License at time of hire** Certification Preferred: Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist
