  • Job Summary
  • The System Contracting Lead (IT) reports to the Director of System Contracting. This individual is responsible for assessing incoming contracts, proposals, and agreements from third-party vendors to ensure alignment with the System’s needs and requirements. This pivotal role involves proactive engagement in negotiating various types of IT contracts, including but not limited to Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Consulting Agreements, SaaS Agreements, Licensing Agreements, and Maintenance Agreements. The primary objective is to secure favorable business terms, including competitive pricing, discounts, service levels, and other essential provisions, in line with the directives and goals of the relevant departments. In order to effectively meet departmental needs, the System Contracting Lead (IT) collaborates closely with CoxHealth departments, particularly Information Technology, Compliance, Information Security, Finance, and other relevant teams. By understanding their requirements and strategic direction, the System Contracting Lead (IT) ensures that contractual agreements are tailored to optimize cost, quality, and performance, while aligning with CoxHealth’s financial and operational goals. This position requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to foster positive vendor relationships to drive successful outcomes for the organization.
  • Job Requirements
    Education
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies or a related field. 
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field or 8 years of relevant experience 
  • Experience
  • Preferred: five or more years of contracting experience
  • Preferred: 2+ years healthcare, IT, and/or supply chain experience
  • Preferred: Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management, preferably within the healthcare industryRequired: Two or more years of contracting experience
Skills

Strong analytical skills to assess complex contract terms and pricing structures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with departments and vendors.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in contract review and drafting.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines.

Strength in taking initiative and exercising good judgment and decision-making.

Proficiency in using contract management software and Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to maintain confidentiality with the highest degree of integrity and discretion.
