Job Summary
- The Wound Care nurse provides direct patient care and coordinates wound care services including telemedicine consultations with supervising physician or non-physician provider. Nursing care is focused on specialized assessment, wound management and treatment ordered by the supervising physician or non-physician provider. The Wound Care nurse must possess specialized skills in the care and management of patients with impaired healing of wounds and must have or agree to pursue a certification in wound care by an appropriate certifying body.
Job Requirements
- Education
  - Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  - Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Experience
  - Previous nursing experience preferred
- Skills
  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  - Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
  - Exhibits valuable time management skills
  - Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  - Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
  - Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
  - Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
