  • Job Summary

    • Supervises the day to day functions including-Front Office Operations which includes the following function (Chart Analysis, Chart Deficiency Management, Coding Support, Phone Support and Master Patient Index (MPI). Ensures that the Operations team is meeting productivity/quality standards as assigned. Knowledgeable of County, State and Federal court system as well as State and Federal Regulations regarding the release of confidential patient information. Utilizes this knowledge to act as Custodian of Medical Records. Understands basic computer functions as demonstrates expert knowledge of software proprietary to the Health Information Management Department as well as software used throughout Cox Health Systems.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
      • Preferred: Coding Certificate Program completion
    • Experience
      • Required: 2-4 years' experience in Health Information Management or a related field
      • Preferred: Previous supervisory experience
    • Skills
      • Knowledgeable of Medical Staff Bylaws and other state and federal regulatory agencies.
      • Knowledge of the legal regulations regarding the release of confidential patient information.
      • Knowledge of County, State, and Federal court system.
      • Excellent knowledge of Cerner, Soarian and other software utilized by Cox Health Systems.
      • Knowledge of current medical terminology.
      • Very detailed oriented.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Preferred: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-A, COC or CIC credentials
