Summary

  • Job Summary
    • The Maintenance Supervisor-Grounds is responsible for providing guidance with excellent leadership to all grounds staff. This position is responsible for scheduling all grounds staff in order to accommodate the needs of other hospital departments. Must have excellent communication skills and advanced knowledge of exterior building components and equipment. The Grounds Supervisor will utilize Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to assign, edit, and complete work orders. This position will coordinate projects with multiple hospital departments and external contractors. Will be required to work a flexible schedule according to workload, equipment failure, inclement weather conditions, etc.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: High School diploma or equivalent
      • Preferred: Associate Degree “Building Maintenance Technology”, “Construction Management” or a related field
    • Experience
      • Required: At least 7 years of healthcare facility maintenance experience or a preferred certification (shown below) with 5 years’ work experience
    • Skills
      • Excellent leadership skills
      • Excellent communication skills
      • Ability to recognize and delegate workloads among staff
      • Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics of building structure and infrastructure
      • Advanced scheduling skills of staff covering daily, evening, nights, weekends, inclement weather, and emergency shifts.
      • Demonstrates advanced technical skills in preparation, application, installation, troubleshooting, and/or replacement process in: horticulture, botany, gardening, landscaping, forestry, irrigation systems, and hardscape maintenance, plumbing, electrical, etc.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Active Driver's License
      • Required: STI Fire Stop Certified must be obtained within 1 year of hire (provided by Cox yearly if not already certified)
      • Preferred: Welder, Electrician, HVAC tech, Pipe-fitter, or a related certification
      • Preferred: Operation of a fork-lift
