Summary

  • Job Summary
    • The IT Security Administrator will participate in all aspects of IT security focusing primarily on the more technical aspects of Threat Hunting and Risk Detection. Responsible for developing and maintaining the tools and systems required by the organization to detect intrusions of all types, misuse, policy violations, and other security risks. Expected to research and keep pace with the ever changing threat landscape to develop new methods of detection and protection for CoxHealth. Continuous learning through “Relentless-incrementalism” is a core principal of the team.
    • This position will perform 3rd party risk assessments to ensure the 3rd party meets general security & HIPAA requirements to include data at rest and in motion. IT Project risk assessments will be performed to determine the adequacy of controls and will detail issues/remediation plans to minimize or eliminate risk. Involved in the change/development architecture of IT systems.
    • Responsible for reporting the security status on network monitoring tools and reviewing for compliance and effectiveness. Will monitor firewall activity. Will assist in the documentation of internal security policies, procedures. Will participate in internal penetration testing and Red Team offensive risk assessment exercises. Will also complete technical audits of key systems and processes.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
      • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
    • Experience
      • Required: Minimum 3 years of IT Security or related IT experience
      • Preferred: Previous experience in IT systems, platforms, operations & infrastructure and/or Audit & security management experience of current risk & trends using a security framework
    • Skills
      • Affinity with open source software and tools especially Linux and various security tools.
      • A Strong technical understanding of IT security is a must, cloud security and an in-depth technical understanding of computing infrastructure is an advantage.
      • Experience with Intrusion detection systems, centralized log management, and penetration testing.
      • Excellent logical, inductive and deductive reasoning skills.
      • Ability to understand and develop custom scripts and tools to meet the security needs of the organization. Strong development skills in at least one programming language.
      • Knowledge of common Networking L4-L7 Protocols such as SSL, HTTP, DNS, SMTP and IPsec.
      • Strong understanding of firewall technologies.
      • Understanding of load balancers, Proxy servers, and packet shapers.
      • Networking, protocols analysis, routing and switching.
      • Good project management and prioritization skills as well as documentation and organizational abilities.
      • Proficient in at least one software development language
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Preferred: CISSP, CEH, GSEC,OSCP or other relevant certification.
