CoxHealth Labor & Delivery is seeking Registered Nurses to join our team! The Labor & Delivery unit consists of 13 LDR, 2 low intervention rooms, 3 Triage, a 5 bed OB/ED unit, 3 operating rooms, 4 beds OBPACU and a 4 bed high risk OB area. L&D averages 300 deliveries each month and is home to over 100 employees! We follow AWHONN staffing standards, offer self-scheduling, and boast high employee satisfaction scores as indicated by surveys for Unit Magnet Status. Our L&D unit also includes a Triage/OB-ED area that is staffed 24/7 by board certified OB-GYN Hospitalists.

  • Job Summary
    • The Labor and Delivery nurse cares for women and neonates during labor and childbirth. They are responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating families throughout the birth process. The Labor and Delivery nurse provides comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and neonates during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of delivery. The Labor and Delivery nurse must be able to recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation and communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program
      • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
    • Experience
      • Preferred: Previous nursing experience
    • Skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
      • Exhibits valuable time management skills
      • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
      • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: MO RN license
      • Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
      • Required: ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
      • Required: Must obtain NRP within one year of hire
