Summary

  • Job Summary
    • Utilizes the nutrition care process to effectively assess the needs of patients; identify a plan of care; and implement and evaluate the care given. Provides direct and indirect care to patients and leads the patient care team toward nutrition goal achievement in accordance with the Dietitian Practice Act and National Standards of Care as identified by respective professional dietetic and nutrition support organizations. Addresses system issues to facilitate the provision of quality efficient nutrition support care. Delegates appropriately to other team members. Excellent communication skills, leadership ability, time management, and problem solving skills required. Specifically, the Metabolic Support Dietitian shall evaluate systematically the quality, safety, appropriateness and effectiveness of specialized nutrition therapies in collaboration with other healthcare professionals and metabolic support team members. They provide leadership in the nutrition care process as well as manage per physician ordered protocol the delivery of enteral and parenteral nutrition.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Bachelors in Nutrition or Dietetics
      • Completion of an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics approved internship, coordinated undergraduate program
      • Preferred: Masters in Nutrition
    • Experience
      • Preferred: 1-2 Years Experience
      • Preferred: Nutrition Support experience
    • Skills
      • Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, other computer systems software, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment as necessary.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Registered Dietitian must be obtained within 90 days of hire
      • Required: Certification in Nutrition Support must be obtained within 4 years of hire
