Job Summary
A registered or licensed professional who assumes responsibility for the development and coordination of lactation educational programs, projects and clinical services for The Women’s Center.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Experience
Preferred: Minimum 2 years clinical experience in maternal-child area with experience assisting breastfeeding families
Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Prioritization and time management skills
Excellent computer and phone skills
Comprehensive understanding of principles of breastfeeding, nutritional requirements of infant and normal feeding behaviors
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: MO RN License AND BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Required: IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) or CBE (Certified Breastfeeding Educator) or must obtain within 2 years of hire.
