Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide oncology pharmacy the services to patients in our cancer care center which includes the responsibility for the safe and proper distribution and use of oncologic medications in acute care patients as well as ambulatory patients. This pharmacist will also provide pharmaceutical care to non-oncologic patients as determined by departmental needs.

This position is to function at higher decision making and accountability levels regarding medication therapy, proactively affecting medication use by making recommendations at the time prescribing decisions are being made or, in some cases, making independent decisions about medication therapy in cooperation with other healthcare team members.  Additional emphasis will be placed on provision of services across the continuum of care.
 

  • Job Summary
    • Staff pharmacists process/verify orders for medications, monitor patient medication therapies and provide drug information. Staff pharmacists supervise and direct support personnel. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Bachelors in Pharmacy - Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of Pharmacy
      • Preferred: Doctorate of Pharmacy - Completion of ASHP accredited PGY1 residency
    • Experience
      • Required: No Prior Experience Required
      • Preferred: 2 years healthcare setting or equivalent residency training
    • Skills
      • None specified
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Registered with Missouri Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacist or registry eligible and obtain within 90 days of hire
        **Eligibility for licensure requires submission of application for Pharmacy License at time of hire**
        Medication Therapy Services Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
