  • Job Summary
    • The Perioperative Educator NM provides improved patient care outcomes through effective orientation, evaluation, education, and ongoing development of all patient care staff. They will address system issues to facilitate the provision of quality efficient care. They will utilize the nursing process to effectively asses the needs of patients, identify a plan of care, and implement and evaluate the care given. They provide direct and indirect care to patients and leads the patient care team toward goal achievement in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy. The Perioperative Educator NM provides didactic and hands-on education to support staff development and enhance clinical performance. All this while leading the department in facilitating change, fostering innovation and self-development all while acting as a resource to clinical staff in an effort to facilitate excellence in operations, patient safety, and quality.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
      • Preferred: Masters in Nursing.
    • Experience
      • Required: 3 to 5 years previous hospital or nursing experience and charge nurse role.
    • Skills
      • Working knowledge in human relations, customer service, inventory management,
      • Ability to work with multiple people while meeting numerous requests and deadlines.
      • Goal oriented with initiative and potentials for self-development. Maintains organizational and priority setting skills.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Effective leadership abilities
      • Exhibit valuable time management skills
      • Computer literacy skills
      • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
      • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Missouri Nursing License
      • Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
      • Required: Must complete department specific certifications within the designated time frame
