Summary

Job Summary

Responsible for cleaning, assembling, packaging and sterilizing all instruments and equipment from all areas of the health care facility as well as the operation and care of same equipment and instruments.

Job Requirements

Education
Required:

Training Technician: High School diploma or equivalent OR
Technician I: Graduate from School of Surgical Technology OR High School diploma or equivalent AND Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) OR
Technician II: Graduated from School of Surgical Technology AND Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Experience

No prior experience required
Preferred: 2 years of surgical experience

Skills

Excellent Communication Skills
Working knowledge of computers
Ability to organize instrument sets
Able to pass a written proficiency review
Organized and self-motivated with an attention to detail

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Preferred: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
Preferred: CST, CIS
