Job Summary
The Network Engineer II is responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and network services and ensuring the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers and network connections. As the Network Security Engineer, responsibilities will include but not limited to planning, designing and developing local area networks (LANs) in the organization. In addition the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support and optimization of all network hardware, software and communication links. This position will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required. As the Security Engineer, responsibilities will include but not limited to checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans and troubleshooting. The Network Engineer II will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion and conduct both network and user activity audits where required. Responsible for determining security needs, developing and implementing solutions and creating and enforcing security policies are essential tasks for this position.
Job Requirements
Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Preferred: Associates Degree in a Related Field – Microsoft certifications
Experience
Preferred: 3-5 Years Related Experience
Skills
Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
Knowledge of current information technology and an ability to lead project teams to accomplish automation projects of large size and complexity.
Proficient in all Microsoft programs; high level proficiency in Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management.
Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, presentation, organization, prioritizing, decision-making, and planning skills.
Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication, project and PC and client/server skills.
Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Experience with online technical troubleshooting procedures.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Preferred: Microsoft Certifications
