Summary

  • Job Summary
    • Responsible for all aspects of the Nutrition Care Process. Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients in accordance with The Dietitian Practice Act and National Standards of Care as identified by professional Dietetic and Nutrition Support Organizations. Implement appropriate patient centered nutrition interventions and goals. Leads the patient care team in development and implementation of nutrition plan of care. Communicate with patients, patient family members and other members of the health care team in a timely, professional and effective manner. Provide guidance in The Nutrition Care Process and manage per Provider ordered protocols the delivery of Medical Nutrition Therapy. Precept Dietetic Interns. Assist in quality improvement initiatives to support departmental and organizational goals. Develop and provide educational programs for clients, students, employee and community audiences.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from an accredited University Program Completion of an ACEND approved dietetic internship or coordinated undergraduate program
      • Preferred: Plan of study for MS completion or a Master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field
    • Experience
      • Required: Completion of an ACEND approved dietetic internship or coordinated undergraduate program
      • Preferred: Experience in application of Nutrition Diagnostics and Nutrition Focused Physical Exam
    • Skills
      • Reading, writing, mathematic calculations pertinent to position, computer skills
      • Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups
      • Able to follow direction and work congenially as a team player
      • Able to stand for long periods of time
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: Registered Dietitian with State Licensure or Registry Eligible with successful completion within 6 months of hire
      • Maintains registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)
      • Preferred: Board certification in advanced specialty practice
