Summary

  • Job Summary
    • The Bio-Medical Technician is responsible for assigned duties which promote safety and well being of all patients, visitors, and staff by maintaining the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of water systems, medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems. In addition, this individual will document repairs, perform safety checks and preventive measures.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Associates Degree in a Related Field or completion of Military Biomedical training program. Completion of 7 additional manufacturers level service seminars or  3rd party equivalent. 
      • Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degrees in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Technology
    • Experience
      • 5-8 years experience required (5 years if BMET Certification is completed)
    • Skills
      • Use of common hand tools
      • Soldering and desoldering skills
      • Knowledge of electronic theory and basic safety procedures
      • Learn and appropriately utilize all required computer applications, including but not limited to E-mail, medical equipment management software and inventory tracking software.
      • Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas clearly both orally and in writing to hospital staff, vendors, patients and patient’s families.
      • Ability to utilize manufacturer’s service and operators manuals and other documentation
      • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair basic to advanced clinical electronic and electromechanical equipment
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Preferred Certification: BMET Certification
