Summary

  • Job Summary
    • Utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess the needs of patients, identify a plan of care, and implement and evaluate the care given. Provides direct and indirect care to patients and leads the patient care team toward goal achievement in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehab (CPR) performs and facilitates patient education, evaluation, and case management of a team of patients and providing an environment of patient safety, and fulfilling the service line needs, such as comprehensive patient evaluation and treatment related to the patients’ diagnosis. The RN also works closely with the FDC Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Vascular Surgeon groups giving patient updates and receiving orders when needed. In addition to the above the RN performs: 6-minute walk tests and O2 determination, medication adjustments, 1:1 education, counseling, blood glucose monitoring, and cardiac telemetry interpretation and treatment.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Required: Graduate of an approved nursing program
      • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
    • Experience
      • Preferred: RN with critical care background within 5 years or telemetry experience within 3 years. Comfortable with reading and interpreting telemetry monitoring and 12 lead EKGs.  Must have BLS and ACLS. 
    • Skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
      • Exhibits valuable time management skills
      • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
      • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration
      • Required: MO RN license
      • BLS must be obtained within 90 days
      • ACLS within 90 days
