700 West Medical Oncology is an inviting and welcoming unit for both patients and staff. We are a 17-room, mostly private bed, unit. Our nursing staff is highly skilled in caring for oncology, end-of-life, and medical-surgical patients. Registered Nurses administer chemotherapy, assist in symptom management of cancer and other illnesses, provide end-of-life care, and perform many other nursing skills to care for patients. RNs work closely with other medical disciplines to provide excellent patient care and outcomes. Our unit is equipped with the latest technology, including the new virtual nursing program. We have an excellent and active educator and nurses receive continuing education to ensure they are current with best practice guidelines.

  Job Summary

• • Utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess the needs of patients, identify a plan of care, and implement and evaluate the care given. Provides direct and indirect care to patients and leads the patient care team toward goal achievement in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy. Leads employees to accomplish all job objectives; inspires confidence and motivation to enhance employee satisfaction.

Job Requirements

• • Education
    • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Experience
    • Preferred: At least five years of clinical experience, one year of charge nurse experience, and one year experience in the area of specialization
  • Skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
    • Exhibits valuable time management skill
    • Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
    • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
    • Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
